Very interesting concept blog post.

You have set up a very interesting situation, that is a very important growing process that needs to be considered in long term space travel and, as you point out, to sustain human beings on a long journey.

I couldn't help but notice that you have been selected as one of the 25 challengers in the

1 Meter of Pi - Design Challenge

I am also a challenger and I have never grown Spirulina before. I am also excited to learn how to grow it using sensors and the Raspberry PI.
