Love the time-lapse sequence. Often thought of trying to do one on some plants, but never got around to it.

This just shows how tricky it is to grow stuff. I tried hydroponics once - not a great success. I tried using a bubbling injection system into the roots to try and reduce the nutrient depletion zone immediately adjacent to the roots. It just resulted in plants with no roots! They still grew though. Probably needed smaller bubbles.

Nice update.

I think you might be seeing a dilution of the nutrient flow from the top plants to the bottom.

From what I observed, you have the holders in series, which provides more nutrients to the first plants and less to the ones on the bottom row.

With that sort of arrangement, you would want to put your heavy feeders early in the chain so they can get their maximum amount.
