You could also go for the Regular Pi 3B? It has Bluetooth, and was the original Raspberry Hero, until it was updated with the B+. So I'm sure it'd be fine.

Good Luck and Congratulations on your decision to accept the challenge in the non-sponsored track. Yes as you had mentioned the road test of Raspberry Pi 3 B+ got over earlier than this Design Challenge announcement. I too had the same plan as you. Apply for this design challenge for a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ instead of the road test. But luckily I got Raspberry Pi 3 B+ as a gift from [mention:5114b71b4daf450aaa8331e071e0ba36:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] Thanks again, Daniel ZIma. Unfortunately, somehow I missed applying for the design challenge! Now, I am thinking whether or not to enter the challenge same as you in the non-sponsored track.

So I need to either A. come up with a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ some other way, or B. change my entire plan and go with another Hero...

What do you, the Reader, think I will do???
