Hi Mark,

in my different applications I have added text alerts using “email to text”. In short this means sending an email to [phoneNumber@mobileProvider.com]. Your provider bridges this over to a text and sends it to your phone. I did this in my Smart Range Hood project which also attached a picture from the Pi camera through the NodeRed email node. I somehow missed talking about that part in the blogs though.

Look up email to text and find you mobile provider.

Very cool project : ) it could also monitor commercial zones - I think retail stores could do with something similar, to find out on average where shoppers are hanging out most often, in which parts of the store : )

Nice plan.

I agree on the planning issue.

The more time you prepare to do something, the more likely that all of the pieces will come together and work.

Too often I see people try to evolve a project and end up redoing a lot of the parts before they get it right.

I understand the desire to get started quickly, but taking time to plan and think are more important than action.
