Let's get the important things said first - great find on the Minions!

And the CNC signs too - interesting to see the opportunities that are available. There's a guy here at the local art show who sells a ton of cnc-made wood projects (including games) every year. Rather misleading, though, as the show makes it seem like he hand makes them all.

It's really interesting to see your observations on solar power though, given that you're on the opposite end of the seasons from me.

I see the results every year: there's loads of little solar lights you can buy cheaply here that have replaced the older 12 volt yard systems - but in the winter they rarely charge up enough to last more than an hour into the extended winter nights. So I wondered how to get around that limitation.

Given that the weather here is usually either sunny or windy, I think your idea of wind + solar might be the key. Now if you can figure out a way to harvest energy from the rain, let me know!

The biggest issue with wind power is that it can be noisy, but that's not an issue if it's at the end of the road, and also for your project it's only little.

And sad, but I agree - a big solar panel could become a target for thieves. Sad that this is an issue.

Nice update on your design challenge project. Time away is important and enjoyable, so hopefully you will come back relaxed and energized. It is great to get out an see new things and get more great ideas.

Just to note that the Cypress Solar Powered IoT Device was road tested some time back (I was one of the testers).

Miniprog3 is not needed to program (only debug). You can flash via USB - I think I used the PSoC Programmer at the time to do this but you should be able to do this using PSoC Creator too.
