I had plugged a header in one-pin off and applied power while doing the final installation of the hardware.

I had to take half a day of vacation to come home and figure out happened and how much damage there was. My boss was really cool about it when I told him (he is an EE). I had to shoot my "final" video using my smartphone for a display instead of the actual one. Luckily the replacement arrive while I was on the trip and I threw in in late Friday night the last day of the contest and did a quick final update post...

Good progress on your design challenge project. Looks like all the pieces are coming together. Good work on finding fixes to the problems that were coming up. Hopefully no one was actually hurt.
