Awesome job!

You certainly got all the different parts of the system put together! Yes, these challenges are... well - a challenge! There are so many different things that all need to come together in a short time period, so anyone who can do as much as you have done is amazing!

I am thinking of implementing a similar system at my house - it would be interesting to plot it all out and see who all is walking by (I live in a house in the city). Build up a database of known people and flag any new ones. It'll be interesting to see what all it finds!

Hi Mark,

With a bit of funding you probably have enough there to start a new tech startup company!

I'm impressed you were able to do all that work, all those different facets of integration, while holding down a full time job AND dealing with site hosting issues, vacation, and hopefully not having the spouse give you dirty looks!

I barely had time to read any of the content being created by you, let alone create any content or build any project, so my tiny virtual hat goes off to you for sure!

This project does represent a hugs amount of work and a great deal of experience and design shared to the community. You could never consider that a failure. I thoroughly enjoyed (and learned) reading your updates and eagerly look forward to your updates on this project and your other endeavors.

Hi Mark,

It is an awesome project and there was still lots of unleashing of BLE from my perspective. I still need to read lots to catch up, but also the notification ideas I thought were pretty cool, using LEDs and time display too, and controlling it via MQTT. There are so many topics to work on in this design challenge (not just software, OS, services and hardware, but distributed devices and wireless communications, and in your case even power generation) and it is so good to see we all managed to get very far in just 10 weeks.

I believe it's not possible to have a complete deployment-ready solution in this period of time, the best we can hope for is sharing our findings and a demo or prototype, as you did. Congrats for the achievements and dedication to sticking it out and documenting it all!

Hi Mark,

You have done an excellent work on this Challenge. Life happens, and sometimes we cannot do anything about it, no matter how much contingency planning we put into it. An to be honest, the unpredictability of life it is one of the things that add some "spice" to it.

Thank you for the efforts and all the insights you have shared. I certainly have enjoyed following your progress. Good luck with the contest.
