Using an embedded computer as a permanent Shazam-like service is really cool! :-)

By the time I find my phone, and start shazam, the song I want to tag has usually ended, so I have often wondered why isn't there a 24/7 service running in my house (or in a bar) tagging/logging everying, and having a dedicated device for this is definetly better than killing your smartphone's battery.

If you go for linux on the SAMA5D4, there is an opensource project for music fingerprinting that you could use and integrate with the rest of your software.

Alternatively, you can run android on SAMA5D4 and actually use shazam or soundhound, but integration will have to be a hack :-)
