Just fit some microswitches to provide feedback when the window is fully open or closed so the motor can switch on/off accordingly [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-f44d81e3-f95a-4775-84fd-2dffce0197fc/contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16]

ps. If you get things working well then scale things up to a real window. Your model does not need to be complex and you'll save time by having something on the bench to work with.

RE: Tinkerkit servo OR DC geared motor?

The servo will not be able to move windows. That's above its capabilities.

The DC motor seems to be low power too looking at the photo (I'm using a similar one - without the gear - for my project).

Maybe the reduction makes it fit to move a window, but I wouldn't bet on it too much before I tried it.

The DC motor gives you a nice opportunity to play with the Infineon motor shield though.
