Looks like you have a plan, now all you need is to bound your project with a couple of prototypes.

You cannot go wrong with a wind breaker design or camera vest. Both are useful year around and have applications for adding technology.

Take a look at Barbara's Hoodie posts. You can get some good ideas from her.
