What did I build?
Using the Current6Click current monitoring board mounted on a Pi3 Click Shield, and mounted on a RaspberryPi, I was abl...

RE: Safer 3D Printer - Blog #5 - It Vorks!

Great finish.

It is always a good day when you run a test and everything works.

RE: Safer 3D Printer - Blog #5 - It Vorks!

Very cool! This is a great test of the current monitoring device (MAX40080). This is a project to go back to as a reference should I want to add some similar monitoring to my 3D printer. Well done!

RE: Safer 3D Printer - Blog #5 - It Vorks!

Enjoyed the presentation. Nice when a thought, that links with part, to create a project, actually works!

I struggled with a tool to code python. I'm a resurrectionist, not a programmer. I searched for a code editor that was easy to install. Vi was my go-to editor because it was there. I switch Pi SD cards so often, that the work to get a code tool to work was overhead I avoided.

I then invested in Visual Studio Code on my Ubuntu workstation and perfected a remote install to a Raspberry Pi. Now when I need to write python code on the Pi it takes five minutes to establish the VSC environment. I have also started to use VSC to program Arduino's.

I have a document with VSC point and click options that are needed to get the remote environment established. The only prerequisite is to have SSH login without password established before attempting the setup. I have the write-up (that works) if your interested.
