It can give excellent results, but as you suggest, home production rates of them can be low!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#39;s a great trick to pre-wind thick wire - I&amp;#39;ll have to remember that. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve still got an antenna project in-progress, in that case, the inductor &amp;#39;wire&amp;#39; is copper pipe hehe.
