&lt;p&gt;Very interesting! I didn&amp;#39;t know about the requirement to keep the capacitance within a range. I don&amp;#39;t have that chemistry supercap, but I dug up this beast:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It was purchased for a project 8 years ago but this one was unused (it has not been charged for 8 years). It measured 0.214 V : ( Anyway, I&amp;#39;ve set it on a charge at a low-ish rate (100 mA), and physically protected myself from any bursting etc, and will see what happens. It will take ages at this rate of course.
