Hi Doug, very well done and great to read through it ! Actually to describe the sensitivity in a good way you may want to test a piece of glass and just let one drop of liquid fall down on it... you will see the pulse response ;-)

I have really enjoyed following this. One of my first jobs as an engineer involved instrumenting reciprocating compressors, calculating efficiency, and doing predictive maintenance. I wrote a FORTRAN program where the operators recorded data that was later punched on cards for further analysis. It is so cool that this can be done now with such sophistication on a model engine.

Cool. Do you have a link for the glue wax? How do you detach it after sticking it with that glue?

Sone good experiments, it’s really sensitive, I’d be tempted to start trying all sorts of things - try dropping a feather so it floats down to the plastic box.

Looks like you could use it as an alarm sensor to protect your valuable works of arts Douglas. Of course, I dare say Katherine Zeta-Jones could defeat it with her alarm avoiding acrobatics.
