Arty-Z7-20 board sneak path

While playing with the Arty-Z7 Out-of-the-box demo, I noticed a strange bug. With the USB and external power barrel plug removed, the board was still on. When I disconnected the HDMI out cable, the power went off. This tells me something on the HDMI cable from the monitor was powering the board. We used to call this a sneak path. Looks like R137 (fuse) is letting voltage from the monitor come back into the board.

I've shipped all the kits to the 15 participants. You should be receiving them soon. I know some people have received their kit already.

Before the participants were too far into the challenge, I wanted to talk a moment about strategy.

I have set up my challenges on a point-scoring system. I feel it works the best and has the most visibility and (personally speaking) is the fairest, at this point in time.

In a nutshell, a participant gets points for up to 5 extra credit blogs plus a final blog. Go here to read a detailed explanation how the blogs are scored: click here

I only require a final blog to successfully complete the program. But from what I have seen is that it is unlikely that if a participant only submits a final blog he or she will win the grand prize.

The grand prize winner usually produces a combination of a final blog and extra credit blogs.

So, at the beginning of this challenge, you should plan your strategy.
