I'm just finally getting to this round of comments. This has definitely been the most fun of any challenge I've ever faced. The box of Adafruit parts really spoke to so many possibilities and I'm still getting ideas. Seeing everyone's posts was my favorite part, because it got me thinking more about engineering obstacles and also potential materials for other projects. I didn't even know Element 14 existed until I stumbled upon it by accident through Adafruit. So, now it has become another educational source for me, as well as another geek hangout. I'm very thankful for all the people that take time from their careers to comment and post about their own work. It takes time to document your work, but it is so important. I can already tell you that I've decided I'm quite happy in this realm. By day I'm a filmmaker, and I'm starting to rethink that. I will either end up in open hardware or game development... or both!! So, thanks for being an awesome inspiration for me. Linda, gifted me the Arduino Robot kit, so eventually you will see my posts about that project. For now, I need a bit of a rest while I actually do my day job LOL. Also, I'll need time to make Linda a gift before I start the robot. Get ready, Linda!! Thanks again to everyone, especially the other challengers. Please do finish your projects and post about them. I want to see. Peace love and open hardware...

Haha, unbelievable! I mean, entering a road test challenge is not something I thought I would ever do! Thats something that my boyfriend, Victor Sluiter, does, he's the electronics engineer extraordinaire. Not me! But I entered anyway, because this particular challenge was just too much fun. I saw endless posibilities in combining fabric with electronics. I was so thrilled to be picked as one of the contestants. It was a wonderful journey from coming up with a fun idea and then trying to make it work. A lot of joy, frustration, blood, sweat, tears and too little sleep later and here we are.. With a working ColorCam and so much new insight in the world of electronics (and in my boyfriends world! ). I agree with Leslie, I wonder why the CapPin library did not work on battery.

Have you contacted the vendor to see if they have a fix? Either way I would like to hear what they say about the function and batter use.

That information could be very useful in designing projects.

Hi Chris,

I was not sure how it would all work out, but I like the effect of the LED's on the white fur.

As for failure, that only occurs with people who try. Kibitzers never fail, but then they never build anything.

I think you did an excellent job given the scope of your design and the timeline you had to work with.

Like everyone else, I look forward to seeing your design up and working, so I hope you complete it even if the competition is over.
