I left the tails very long an...</description><dc:language>en-US</dc:language><generator>Telligent Community 12</generator><item><title>RE: &amp;quot;Get Closer Challenge&amp;quot;  - Navigation Glove</title><link>https://community.element14.com/challenges-projects/design-challenges/get-closer/b/blog/posts/get-closer-challenge---navigation-glove-34046320</link><pubDate>Sun, 08 Sep 2013 15:33:29 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:160af5fc-1211-4c8f-8b64-104f684d2ddf</guid><dc:creator>zengirl2</dc:creator><slash:comments>0</slash:comments><description>&lt;p&gt;Alex,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Not only do I love Game of Thrones, but I&amp;#39;m a huge fan of IronMan.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#39;ve already told people that I would love to be a female IronWoman -- complete with zapping one-liners and LED blue circle (might use the Adafruit one LOL).&amp;nbsp; BTW, nothing wrong with Stark -- it&amp;#39;s just they don&amp;#39;t get the dragon!&amp;nbsp; Anyway, back to your project.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I tried to zoom in on your LED&amp;#39;s and the only thing you might want to consider is adding more stitches in the holes of the LED&amp;#39;s.&amp;nbsp; I know Becky says when using the FLORA, that you fill the hole/pad until you almost can&amp;#39;t see it anymore.&amp;nbsp; So, I would do the same to the LED&amp;#39;s.&amp;nbsp; Also, this is something I learned from Lynne Bruning&amp;#39;s tutorials, when stitching hardware like controller pads or LED pads, it&amp;#39;s best to stitch up and down through the fabric and pad each time, rather than moving once through the fabric and then continuing to just do the thread whipped around the pad.&amp;nbsp; I think that might be what you were trying to explain when you said something about the figure eight pattern.&amp;nbsp; Eventually that whipping starts to loosen because it doesn&amp;#39;t have a good anchor. I don&amp;#39;t think you have to take the stitching out to fix it, but I would definitely add more, through the fabric, stitches.&amp;nbsp; Hope it helps -- and feel blessed that you don&amp;#39;t have shorts!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=16323&amp;AppID=107&amp;AppType=Weblog&amp;ContentType=0" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item><item><title>RE: &amp;quot;Get Closer Challenge&amp;quot;  - Navigation Glove</title><link>https://community.element14.com/challenges-projects/design-challenges/get-closer/b/blog/posts/get-closer-challenge---navigation-glove-34046320</link><pubDate>Thu, 05 Sep 2013 18:53:38 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:160af5fc-1211-4c8f-8b64-104f684d2ddf</guid><dc:creator>DAB</dc:creator><slash:comments>1</slash:comments><description>&lt;p&gt;Hi Alex,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If your LED&amp;#39;s are unreliable, then you probably have a cold solder joint.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Use your DMM to verify the connection of each of your wires and look for connections where the solder looks beaded instead of a smooth flow over the connection.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You also need to look at the glue and waterproof material.&amp;nbsp; Are they non-conductive?&amp;nbsp; It takes very little material for conductive threads, sometimes just molecules thick, to build under the compounds to short out the connections.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You might also consider using small braided wires instead of solid wires.&amp;nbsp; Braided wire is more tolerant to flexing.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Hope this helps.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;DAB&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=16323&amp;AppID=107&amp;AppType=Weblog&amp;ContentType=0" width="1" height="1"&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
