/challenges-projects/design-challenges/get-closer/b/blog/posts/sewingUnfortunately due to a small but constant stream of visitors and other events which have come up, I&#39;ve not got as far along as I&#39;d have hoped, and this post has taken me a week to find time to post due to work, but I&#39;m hoping to get on top of it agaien-USTelligent Community 12https://community.element14.com/challenges-projects/design-challenges/get-closer/b/blog/posts/sewingMon, 16 Sep 2013 20:44:57 GMT93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:5e425043-06c9-4827-8187-69734a896d6dzengirl20<p>Katie, I&#39;m happy to see the fabric since I remember you describing it.&nbsp; This shirt reminds me of the movie Tron -- it&#39;s modern and sleek.&nbsp; I really like the trim around the neckline, too.&nbsp; I also think your solution of using baking paper was brilliant for dealing with the fabric.&nbsp; I&#39;m not sure how you will be doing the LED&#39;s -- whether you will be trying to make the stitches invisible or decorative.&nbsp; If you decide to go invisible and the material keeps puckering, I&#39;ve had some good luck making a &quot;leash&quot; using satin seam binding.&nbsp; It allows you to encase the stitching so it doesn&#39;t touch the body, and then you don&#39;t have to actually stitch into the mesh fabric until you get to the LED.&nbsp; I did this trick recently in a t-shirt where the stretch material just did not allow for invisible stitches.&nbsp; Worked really well.&nbsp; I call it my invisible bra strap LOL.&nbsp; Anyway, good luck and I know you can still finish this in time.
