Show me where in rules is described that competitors can change project ? I asking where ?

Where are official rules of competiotion I am still waiting.

I lost my free time for this "not clear" competition

Here is the official response from Texas Instruments and element14 -

In July, 10 participants were selected to receive the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 LaunchPad based on the quality of their submitted Internet of the backyard ideas. The finalists were tasked to bring their ideas to life while regularly blogging about their progress. Finalists were judged on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, incorporation of the LaunchPad(s), blogging consistency and totality of design experimentations and success documented throughout blog submissions.

The judges from element14 and TI felt that the winner, Janis Alnis, did an exemplary job incorporating the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3200 LaunchPad into the tomato plant monitoring system. He demonstrated that the design process is often an evolutionary one that may expand to meet multiple needs. Alnis designed a connected solar-powered water pump, a greenhouse monitor measuring soil humidity, temperature and light, and an automated watering system – all of which contributed to the success of his tomato greenhouse. We thank all of the finalists for participating and look forward to seeing additional design ideas in the future as the IoT continues to grow.

Finally, I would like to add that projects evolve over time. We have seen design challenges previously where a challenger started with one idea and ended up with another; in 2013, in a challenge related to energy harvesting, an initial project idea for an energy harvesting powered bike light, turned into an energy harvesting powered egg timer. This was an even more dramatic transformation of the project: it was also one of the winners.

I will try to answer to question by Lukasz and Mark.

Summary blog is not just a summary for internet lamp but for several blogposts.

I have been actively blogging during all the roadtest and have tried out many more things with CC3200 than initially proposed.

It is true that the links to previous blogposts was not clearly visible in summary.

In August-September water was pumped to tomato greenhouse using solar energy:

CC3200 was monitoring soil humidity, temperature and light level in the greenhouse for a month:

In September after collecting tomatoes the greenhouse was taken down. So I have set up automatic watering with CC3200 on indoor plant.

It is still working now in December and sending data to IoT. Automated plant watering is visible in following videos:

In your opinion it is ok,,, in my opinion not !

It sounds like joke but unfortunately it is real situation.

I will be ask fernell and TI about official rules of this competition.

In my opinion primary rules of this competition was broken.

Project: Tomato Plant Monitoring System
Synopsis:

We grow tomatoes in a small home garden greenhouse. And they are so tasty! Greenhouse must be watered every 2nd day. And it is quite hard job. Water is brought from a small pond into a 200 l barrel to let it warm up and then manually distributed with a can to each plant.

I would like to automate this process. I have bought a 20 W solar panel and a pool fountain pump able to lift water ca 2 m. Water consumption depends if day is sunny or cloudy and so also the available solar pump power. On a cloudy day the solar panel current is too weak to start the pump. I have deviced a circuit storing solar energy into a 1 Farad super-capacitor. When capacitor is charged full it starts to drive the pump for ca 20s. This eliminates battery that would need replacement after a few years.

could somebody explain it for me ?
