Interesting proposal

first train of thought was “YES I got picked now I get to actually build it” My second thought was “Oh… now I have to build it”

In NZ the roading people have been spying on vehicles going past by picking up the Bluetooth signal from vehicles going past. They store that ID and then detect it later to build a picture of travel times.

I was thinking you could get most of the information without the need to embed or bury cables in the road, which means cheaper implemetation and no issues with roading repairs.

We have automated warning signs in a few spots that indicate potential freezing conditions. They tend to be large signs that illuminate with a message whenever the conditions are right.

This approach means they suit everyone, so the vehicle doesn't require any additional electronics.

I wonder if we'll ever get to a standard where they can use the built-in BT to receive warnings from roadside equipment.?
