The project looks very interesting and you are showing a very good progress .

I was just thinking while having the accelerometer also on the IKS02A1 you could also eventually extend your system from temperature measurement only to acceleration measurement too. As an example to alert if the parked car was crashed or working as an alarm if somebody would try to get in to steel something.
