I understand how much pain you would have undergone when things do not work the way we expect. Because I too had a similar situation, where I need to make the Bluetooth module communicate serially. The test went 100% Ok with Arduino UNO but in Nucleo-L476RG board, it failed. I have shared it on my blog Traffic Predictor #11 - Module 2 and 3 [Completed] under Hurdle.

After a day's time, I was able to figure out where the problem was. I had to make D0 and D1 pins in the Nucleo-L476RG board to communicate serially whereas I came to know it was a known limitation [Link]. I had to then use CN3 RX and TX as per their suggestion instead of the soldering stuff [Link].

I wonder how many others would have given up if they didn't have the end game in sight, and the knowledge to follow through.
