ZUBoard 1CG is compatible with Petalinux 2023.2?

Dear all,

I have a question regarding Petalinux 2023.2 and ZUBoard 1CG, both are compatible?? I was building a linux image using that petalinux version with the appropiated BSP (version 2023) and .xsa file designed for me with Vivado tool.

Although, an error appeared during petalinux-build command execution, that is, label or path not found: axi_iic_0. It is true that label is not found on my block design in Vivado, that error is provoked due to not define that device?

I am also having trouble with building a project in 2023.2. My errors are about missing libraries, even after installing those.

I am getting this error. Can anyone please help me in solving it ?

I'm having the same problem. But my board is the Microzed. Like manojroy123 , I have made sure all the connections are there, but the problem still persists. Could you point me in the right direction?

Hehe well I guess he earned it, not having to be prompt anymore after such a regimented work career!

Back when a friend was getting married in some northern town, I just knew there was no way we (his closest friends) were all going to get there on time. It was just not realistic.

We decided to be clever and book a hotel near the venue the night before, to eliminate this risk, or so we thought. We were now only 10 minutes away from the venue, so all should have been fine.

In the morning, all of us bright and cheerful that we were going to be bang on time, driving from the hotel to the venue, I still got lost! By the time we got our bearings and finally made it, our lateness was very apparent not just to the groom but to _everyone_ when we walked in : (

I was just curious if there are penalty points for final projects posted past the due date in the Path to Programmable 3, or they compete in the challenge at the same rank as the projects submitted in time?

shabaz After my Dad retired from the Navy, we were not on time for ANYTHING. We told friends "Lie to us that it's a half hour or an hour earlier. PLEASE! Then we might be on time." He got better once we grew up and moved out, but as a kid... it was terrible.

I support establishing earlier deadlines for oneself. Life has a way of consuming that time. Every time.

Nice to read content as and when it is ready, rather than all on the last day.

I routinely "lie" about the time for bookings etc for events with friends and family, simply because if I say 5.30pm, they may make it at 6pm : (

Personally I think it's a nice generous system, and there will always be people who won't make it regardless of what timezone is specified. Even if the system only allowed setting a timezone (e.g. PST, EST, etc) and let contestants figure it out (since they will need to understand timezones in normal life), but regardless, as you say, it's not good to aim for the last day! Perhaps some people feel that if they deliver at the last moment, it is less opportunity for other contestants to see and improve their offerings, since it's a competition. But this is "ungentlemanly" - better to not try strategies like this, and just trust your material is good.

It would be an ideal solution. Everyone that missed that cut-off date, will have had their fair chance or more.

You may get remarks that some people get a fairer fair chance than others. 🤷

Pro tip: don't aim for deadlines. It's a cause for lost opportunities.

Professional procrastinators know how to deal with it, and how to use it as an Occam's razor.
For the non-pros (and those that are hoping to get nice free gear in a competition) it 'll be a voluntary trap to stumble over.

I personaly assume deadline in timezone in which I live. UPS deliver all packages at day (for now, let's ignore that sometimes difference is in days unit and not a hours) at all places around the world, so all contestants receive package at day and they should complete at nigh. At night in timezone in which they live.

But from practical point of view it is not important I think. Since Element14 competitions are not evaluated next day and there is always delay, I think it is not problem to accept blogs from late timezones up to 23 hours late (but practicaly in Chicago time additive constant is much lower).

I use the time zone as a grace period for cut-off days in my day job (I'm currently scrum mastering). If it's still "end of day" somewhere on the globe, I accept it. I plan for that.
It's easier for me to take this into account, than to ask 100 colleagues to adapt to an artificial timezone.

When and where do you decide is the "last place on earth" and its timezone for "the final hour of the day"?

There's an answer to this, it's the IDLW timezone.

Should we use this as the time and timezone for ending competition entries? Or is that a bit over the top considering no one lives on these remote atolls :D Part of me would argue that when we say "end of day on a set date" that we kinda should use the IDLW timezone.

I personally like that we're lenient and understanding of people's situations and that we're positively rewarding action, not negatively detracting from action. Post on time and within the time period? Points. Post late? No points are better than negative points, because what you've already submitted is valid.

I've had a few people wrote back to me about some serious health issues they had during the program period. When I learn about personal issues like this I usually give an extension, which is my policy for all my programs. But this should be for the final project. Credit for the training blogs has been closed for awhile. As for the closing time of day, my feeling has always been that we have people in different time zones, so the closing time should be within a day of the posted closing day. I had not considered penalty points. I suppose that's the point of the deadline, anything past that would not be eligible for any points. It seems like I need to take a closer look at deadlines. Thanks for making me think about it.

Hello,

We completely changed our website platform in 2021, we moved from Jive to Verint, and in doing so, the behaviour of different functionality of the website changed. One of these changes happened to be how draft blog posts are handled. We currently do not have a method of making it similar or the same to how it was on Jive unfortunately.

We have an FAQ wiki and site section: /members-area/support/p/site-faq where we try to link most of the commonly asked questions about the site, else there's user documentation on Verint's site https://community.telligent.com/community/12/a/user-documentation

Your blog drafts are visible in the group that you were creating them in, and if you browse to the 'blog application' within that group, they're accessible via the pencil icon.

I had this issue recently - the edit icon didn't appear until I started a new blog to re-ceate the lost one. But it did appear before I actually entered blog content.

It took time to learn how to publish blogs here. I learned that during my first design challenge here last year. It happened for all of us.

I for example, tried to send the final project before the extended deadline. I had a problem with publishing it before the deadline. First, I had a problem the saved draft, option which I used to save a partial version of the blog. At a moment, after I used this option, entering again in editing mode I noticed that the version displayed by the platform was one from two days ago. Fortunately, I kept a copy in Word format on my computer. But I still needed some time to insert the missing text and also to re-insert the missing pictures.

When I finished the blog, I used again save draft button and after that, I pressed Publish button. I wasn't sure that the blog was published but I said I will check it in the morning. I didn't want to push Publish again as, when I did this for a previous blog, I ended up with three copies of the blog included in a queue where blogs must wait to be validated by the moderator.

In the morning I saw that the blog was not published and I pressed again the Publish option. The blog finally got published but after the deadline. I am not expecting to get any of the promised prizes as I also missed the deadlines for the last blogs, just wanted to raise the problems I faced yesterday late in the night. The board I received for the contest and on which I was learning and developing the project is already a prize for me.

I also want to mention that I have problems in finding the blogs under work (saved as drafts). Normally I try to get to them through Profile, My content. There I find the published blogs but not the draft ones (in the old platform they were accessible in the same place). No link, and no way to see and access them in order to continue with their editing. And then, at some point (I didn't figure out when and why), an icon appears in the upper left of the screen indicating that I have one or more unpublished blogs. Am I missing something?
