Quite a packed board indeed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It seems like the three holes are in the same place as the holes on the Arduino Uno-type boards - it&amp;#39;s probably for compatibility reasons with shields/cases even though the footprint is bigger.
