Probably easiest is to get a (relatively) cheap SD card based audio recorder, such as a Zoom. The output from the mic can, either directly, or from your mixer, go into the recorder. That way, you've got a completely separate sound recording, and it's possible to manually sync to the camera footage, because your camera will have recorded the audio using it's own internal mic too. You can see the same shape sound on your timeline (when video editing) from the two audio sources, and it is then easy to visually align the two by looking for any peak or shape on each of the audio tracks, and then mute out the camera audio when rendering to the video file. It takes just a few seconds to align the two tracks.

I guess you could attach to a camera, to record the audio and video all in one video file, but the editing software should handle an additional audio channel so that you can mute out the camera one after the zoom one is aligned.

The zoom device is not essential since the second track could be just directly recorded using (say) Audacity I expect, but I find it convenient to just have the standalone Zoom device and not be tethered to the PC.
