Another question for inventors is how can we protect these devices? I remember reading about one of the Samsung Smart Refrigerators that implemented GMail was hacked and exposed the credentials, this was the only incidence of a refrigerator being hacked (to my knowledge), but Smart TVs also fall prey to this. Most consumers will not think about the potential risks of having these IoT devices, they know about computer hacking, but may not be aware that other devices connected to the internet are also vulnerable, and so there should be a large emphasis on security when it comes to designing and implementing IoT devices.
