Nice to see some paper and pencil put to work! I had to use my old compass set over the last few days marking out a template for a current clamp table. The design looks very clean and appealing to look at. Look forward to watching out for your progress.

This is a really attractive design!! Shapes always seems to look better when drawn by hand using a set of French curves.

A nice looking prototype and a useful description of the design process. I've struggled with creating wooden prototypes soI think yours is brilliant. I too have a 3D printer (and UP mini) which I think is great for designing and making bits to fit together. I use TinkerCAD which is OK as I'm not that familiar with CAD which creates the STL file that I can directly load into the UP mini software. I don't have to worry about slicing or anything else. It works well enough for me. I did look at Fusion 360 and other CAD packages but they all seemed too complicated.
