I like the classroom idea, because it could be turned into a game - the kids who get timestamped for turning up promptly, get pushed up a scoreboard : ) Or it could gently suggest to them which way to walk if they entered the wrong class : )

RE: PiCasso Adapting Art to Viewers: Demonstration, Blog #10

Great update on your project, good to see it working and the interest it has generated.

Kind regards.

RE: PiCasso Adapting Art to Viewers: Demonstration, Blog #10

Great job! It would make as great intelligent photo frame as well, displaying photo albums according to the person facing the frame.

As for improving the recognition accuracy, even when you provide only a small set of images for the learning, it would help if you pre-process the images before feeding it to the recognition algorithm.

Some typical pre-processing include:

cropping the image, so that only the face is included (no disturbance from background)

transforming the image to grayscale rather than colour

normalising the image (to reduce the noise)

There is a short article which gives you an idea here, and you can get some more ideas from this github project (there is a link to the project's article there as well).
