Not sure if this would work or not but I find that with some spice jars there is a tendency for the contents to stick together quite quickly once the airtight seal is broken. Just wondering if a vibration motor could be incorporated as part of a routine housekeeping operation to prevent this from happening. However without tilting the jar first it may have exactly the opposite effect resulting from vibro-compaction. If the carousel was wall-mounted and the jars stored on their side then perhaps this could be made to work.

Hi Doug!

This is a really great project : )

From my perspective, I cannot recognise one spice from another : ) So when a recipe calls for an ingredient, I often have to ask others which one it is in which jar - sure labels could help, but add foreign languages (some of which I can't necessarily read) into the mix, and it is a large translation issue too. Also, what spice is approximately the same as another? I hate going to the supermarket to buy a single spice just because the (say) Thai cook-book suggests it, when an alternative or a combination might smell/taste almost the same : ) I feel your project could really improve the taste experience for people. A multiplier option would be great too - not just if you're multiplying up or dividing a recipe for a larger/smaller family than the recipe book suggests, but also if one likes one's food mild (definitely not me : ).

Top marks for giving collaboration a go, I hope it works out for the both of you.

[mention:44fa45702fda4d95b457f69505107f36:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] You would hope that element14 could help support the collaboration by providing a shared work area for you to swap ideas and create the blogs together before publishing them. A bit like a Sharepoint or OneNote system.

Looks like a great way to tackle the Challenge.

You may want to use something where you can share the document, then turn the content into the blog.

This might allow for a more 'sideways' travel as you progress forward, without overwhelming the blogs.

I'm curious to see how you turn your rotating rig into a delivery mechanism.
