The rotary position will be absolute - you won't need to keep track of it. Each of the 16 positions will always correspond to the same pulse width (one of 16 pulse widths) to the servo. However, you may need to ramp the speed up and down to achieve smooth operation. I will post a list of position versus pulse width in my next blog along with some thoughts on ramping speeds.

Likewise the neutral lift position will always have a 1.5 ms pulse occurring at 60 Hz.

Glenn,

Moving along nicely. I like how you are making lists, keeping track of important things and separately nice to have things. Keeping these thing separately is important and keeping in mind what you might do is good, so that when implementing you have ideas of where the the nice to have features would fit.
