This time I boiled water in a bigger pot to see if the grid eye sensor gets the temperature right when there is a bigger area below the sensor at a higher temperature. In other words; I wonder if the field of view for each "pixel" really overlaps. You've posted some amazing videos from the dual camera setup and they are kind of telling. In the previous video you posted, the temperature changes when you raise the pot up towards the camera. I think you may have success if you bring the camera closer to the cooktop so the pixels cover smaller areas.

RE: Stove Assistant - Bernhard - Pi Chef #6.5 - Tests with bigger pot

Nice update on your project. You seem to be getting closer to your goal on temperature measurement, but there is still a ways to go. Good luck on finding a way to get the accurate and consistent measurement you are looking for. Have you tried to view both a 'hot' and 'cold' element at the same time? I wonder how boiling water, next to ice, would image. Keep up the good work!

Gene
