This is an awesome idea! I will propose our local hackerspace guys to copy it after you're done - so everybody can enjoy the security and fun =)

Great idea! I love projects that can move SciFi to Sci and then reality finding real-life application for much more than only gaming. That is anyway important, I think.

Interesting project.

There have been many SciFi stories and movies that follow your line of thought.

I agree that the quadcopter is a natural flying platform for such a task.

Have you considered building a recharging shed where the copter can fly into after a patrol and get recharged?
