I did some searching for past few days, on the chasis, and chance upon this. I am currently thinking if this is good for my project

it is a toy lego compatible brick with some basic remote control. one good thing is being 'brick' I can reconfigure it to certain extend

I am also thinking along the way of modifying some toy remote control car.

Looks like you have a good identification of your targets, as well as non-targets, which is usually a very good starting point. You also have a pretty good arsenal of platforms to attack your targets.
