I think if you were to use a water based paint you would find the higher viscosity might make the jets less likely to drip.

Hi Doug,

I really like the way you take us all on a journey through the triumphs and obstacles that are encountered when something new is conceived and created. As usual your build is an elegant technical creation well into the area that those that appreciate such things would call beautiful. A while back we had come builds where small things were made bigger. It seems without intent you have made a large printer cartridge with wheels on it. This is the kind of project that makes element 14 the awesome place that it is.

Hi Doug,

I have been following this closely from your first blog and have greatly enjoyed it. It is an impressive project which really showcases your design and fabrication skills.

I wonder if having a constant pressure fluid source with valves on the individual nozzles would work. I found this for example on AliExpress. I suspect they are larger than the individual pumps you used but the (questionable?) specifications on current draw of max 15 mA at 5V are not too bad providing they give a tight shut off and the opening / closing time is fast enough.

Nice summary. It is a good idea to collect your thoughts while the paper is still wet, so you can remember all the pluses/minuses.

This was a very fun project to follow along on, with many diverse areas of engineering. Well done!
