Hello Mala,

I'm using iteadstudio or Wuerth Elektronik for fast prototyping, both do small orders. Simulating a full board is done, but unusual. The most practical way is - in general - to simulate a few core sections, and then design a PCB / protoboard. Nasty side effects never show up in simulations, so doing 'the real stuff' is very important.

You could of course also do PID control in the digital domain, in the PSOC.

I had forgotten about the PSOC ability to change output voltage and drive power.
