This control voltage can be actuated in many ways. The standard technique is PWM i.e. longer off time for the control pulse or less duty cycle that keeps the heating coil off for

RE: Post 3: Smarter Life Challenge: Oven Control with PSOC 4

Hi Mala,

I hear that seeed studio has some fairly cheap and quick prototyping services, you might look into that as well.

good luck on further progress!

RE: Post 3: Smarter Life Challenge: Oven Control with PSOC 4

Hello Mala,

I'm using iteadstudio or Wuerth Elektronik for fast prototyping, both do small orders. Simulating a full board is done, but unusual. The most practical way is - in general - to simulate a few core sections, and then design a PCB / protoboard. Nasty side effects never show up in simulations, so doing 'the real stuff' is very important.

You could of course also do PID control in the digital domain, in the PSOC.

RE: Post 3: Smarter Life Challenge: Oven Control with PSOC 4

Nice solution.

I had forgotten about the PSOC ability to change output voltage and drive power.

Cool.

DAB
