DAB - I agree about traveling and computers, unfortunately mine died a few days before I left, sitting on my desk.

COMPACT, you're right about the longer leg. I just don't use them often enough to remember which is which, so I always have to either look it up or measure the diode.

Victor - I didn't know that was standard. I might be able to remember Cup = Cathode. Thanks!

I was just wiring up something with LEDs and something I had forgotten was refreshed. Most if not all thru hole leds have one leg longer than the other. That's the Anode leg.

I've used the Pervasive displays and they work well.

Some of my articles include details of how I used them for the Energy Harvesting to Go Road Test which may help you.

Have a look at my comment for We Have A Winner! to give you an example of what can be done with larger e-paper display.

Hi Steve,

I have found that you need to expect the unexpected when you travel.

I ended up in Yellowstone NP one summer and my camera broke. Very sad day.

On the brighter side, I invested in a second camera and always carried two thereafter. Expensive, but cheaper than another trip.

Travelling computers are always iffy. So I am not surprised that you had problems.

Hopefully you found plenty of time to relax and enjoy the trip. The Castle does look inviting.
