No batteries needed, it just needs to be placed close to a steel rim! Very cool design, but a bit limited in use. Your design case looks really good, I hope you get a lot of this stuff done. Have you taken a look at the MPU9150? It's a sensor that can output a lot of orientation data, Pansenti made a library for Arduino, I already ported it to mbed. Maybe it's overkill, but it's fun [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-50863c29-5227-4486-8d94-2288ee53cf9b/contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16]

RE: Smarter Life Challenge: Smart Bicycle Light

Sounds Awesome! My wife needs something like this for her rear facing helmet light. I can't tell you how many times she has asked me "is my light on?" I wish I'd have thought of it.

Good luck,

Steve Turner

P.S. just don't make it too good, I want to win the prize [View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-50863c29-5227-4486-8d94-2288ee53cf9b/contentimage_5F00_3.png:16:16]
