Hi Steve,

As for well-thought-off lights: during the Energy Harvesting challenge I came across the 'Magnic', an energy harvesting bike light. No batteries needed, it just needs to be placed close to a steel rim! Very cool design, but a bit limited in use. Your design case looks really good, I hope you get a lot of this stuff done. Have you taken a look at the MPU9150? It's a sensor that can output a lot of orientation data, Pansenti made a library for Arduino, I already ported it to mbed. Sounds Awesome! My wife needs something like this for her rear facing helmet light. I can't tell you how many times she has asked me "is my light on?" I wish I'd have thought of it.
