If you looked at the original version and used it, please verifyen-USTelligent Community 12https://community.element14.com/challenges-projects/design-challenges/sudden-impact/b/blog/posts/skier-impact-monitor-04---the-head-injury-criterionWed, 07 Jan 2015 19:53:41 GMT93d5dcb4-84c2-446f-b2cb-99731719e767:b742d256-0dc1-458a-acb6-bd6ae6ffe2a9DAB1<p>One trick I learned for fast response based upon data changes was to do a quick look on the input data to see if it was changing enough to trigger the longer calculations.</p><p>That way you can catch the leading edge of the impact more quickly and set up your algorithm to store the data while you run the process in the background as fast as it will run.</p><p>You can also quickly look at the output to see if your &quot;event&quot; triggered an indication of problems.</p><p>You do not necessarily need to process all of the data in real time if all you want to do is detect a collision event.</p><p>You can do the detailed calculations on the data later, but the sooner you know there might be a problem, the quicker you can get treatment.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Just a thought</p><p>DAB</p><img src="https://community.element14.com/aggbug?PostID=19646&AppID=108&AppType=Weblog&ContentType=0" width="1" height="1">
