&lt;p&gt;I think you would do best to use rotary angle sensors to determine the positions - simple potentiometer would do quite well and you can get cheap ones.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Your motors don&amp;#39;t look very strong - so beware of the wind on the mirror.&lt;/p&gt;
