The evaluation kits are designed to run on Windows, so I set

RE: In The Air Tonight - First Tests of the Evaluation Kit

Nice intro Nico.

Do you have another air quality sensor to verify the readings of this one?

RE: In The Air Tonight - First Tests of the Evaluation Kit

I've used USB over CAT6e loads and it works fine but make sure you go for the powered versions (it'll have a little DC power supply on both ends). The unpowered versions just use a balanced line (balun) to avoid interference over the long distance, but don't compensate for the voltage drop over distance. Also I use solid copper CAT6e, but I don't think you'll have too much of an issue with CAT5.

Mac now supports dual booting (bootcamp) so you can directly boot Windows instead of MacOS, maybe yours is too old to support that? Otherwise you might be able to get away with running the evaluation software on Mac using "wine".

Great news you got the AQ sensor working! Hope you get some more luck with the humidity sensor this week.
