1. The Cooling Peltier
Here is the picture , with nameplate rating 12V
The principle is simple, as the following picture shows, I have just fetch the pic from other web directly, so, just for reference. It would be better I draw by hand and use my version.
The Cooling Peltier can be heating pad if change side but it is fragile and easy to be damaged when overheating. It is covered with ceramic, so, install carefully, it can be broken by pressure from screws.
2. Thermal Energy Harvesting
It can be stacked for other purpose, harnest power from temperature. Set the range of 200mV, connect the red-black wire directly, the reading is 0.00mV in room temperature.
Then, put one bottle of boiling water on top of the pad, the reading is -53.7mV. In fact, the maximum rating is 0.7V and several mA. Enough to drive some electronics. Some one uses them in arrays to get high power output.
It can be some fun to played with. But not now for me. I have issues with login and delay in the project.
This type of cooling pad used to be expensive and not worth a try. But it is much cheaper now. Many small fridge are designed with it, cheap but I can guarantee their performance. Anyone can afford one on top of workbench for handy fresh beer.
3. How to use
All I need is on relay and one 12V DC power to drive. It shall be fixed on aluminum cooling fins.
My project is just make the freezer smarter, with Infineon product line.
