How to use xmc4200 with shield2go sensors

I understand how to code in DAVE for xmc4200, but I don't understand how to code it to integrate the shield2go sensors.

I get that the shield2go can communicate via uart, i2c, or spi, but I don't understand how to implement the communication between the xmc4200 with the shield2go sensors.

the shield2go documents aren't helping because it is all implemented in arduino and I don't have the my IOT adapter.

plz helpz.

Hello CW,

yes you are right, the S2GOs libs only exist for Arduino. However, you can re-use the functions from the XMC libs in the Arduino folders and implement it into Dave, because everything is written in C/C++.

Therefore you just need to insert the needed functions and definitions. I would recommend to open the files with something like notepad+ or Platform.IO/VS code.

However, the easiest way is to use Platfrom.IO/VScode or Arduino.

I'm continuing here from our previous conversation. I have changed DC motor to -> Dc-motor Pump which is rated 350mA , but not able to run the

motor pump with single bridge, i combined OUT1 and OUT2 to drive. Check my blog here for more details

Controlling DC Motor Shield using XMC4700 programmed by DAVE

Hi,

Do anyone have successfully control the DC Motor shield using XMC4700 programmed by DAVE? I can control it using example code in Arduino IDE, but there Arduino can only have 2 interrupt pins. And I also couldn't find Free RTOS library for XMC4700 in Arduino IDE. It would be great if someone can teach me to do it in DAVE. Thanks in advance.

Hello Applicants.

I am posting today to inform you of the status of the Sustain The World - Design Challenge.

We have just about chosen all the applicants and will be announcing them in 2 Weeks Time, around 1st of July
We will be adding the KIT_XMC47_RELAX_LITE_V1 to the Kit free of charge for sponsored challengers .
To make up for lost time while shipping of the new kit we will be adjusting the challenge dates.
These dates and challengers will be announced early July.

How to save planet with 140 billion Xmc4200 processors

To decarbonize USA you could coat 25% of Nevada with solar PV, and this would require 140 billion xmc4200, as described below. Page 2 talks about solar on land, mass produces, with Xmc4200 every 2 square meters of land.

25% of Nevada is 280 billion square meters, so you would need 140 billion of the xmc4200.

One way to stop burning all CO₂ in USA is to cover 25% of Nevada with solar PV (74K km² land, 37K km² PV) and then use the electricity to make H₂ gas. This gas could then be transported throughout America to power vehicles, heat homes, and generate more electricity. The electricity generated would be ~3 times more than what America currently generates since this system would be replacing energy we currently obtain from burning natural gas, coal, oil, and gasoline (10.4K vs 3.8K TWhr/yr). The solar parts and labor might cost ~$3.7T ($150B/yr over 25yrs, $0.50/Watt, 7.4TW capacity). However, this does not include the following costs: electrolysis to make H₂ (currently costly), transportation of H₂, maintenance of solar, and land. This solves the following problems: US decarbonization, energy storage (H₂ is storage), limited rare earth metals for many EV batteries (cars run on H₂), significant electrical grid expansion (no longer needed), and disruption to communities from locally based wind/solar/nuclear. The disadvantage is cost -- consumers might see a doubling of energy prices, which is politically unacceptable at this time.

1) Yes 1 applications is sufficient. Applications are welcome until the end of today.

2) The components on the Kit List are provided free of charge and anything else is to be provided by your self.
