I&amp;#39;ve seen it first on an MSP432 example recently, &lt;span&gt;[mention:8924c667d413487687bbffee39da4fc0:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05]&lt;/span&gt; stumbled upon the same thing while checking the latest TI_RTOS release for CC1310.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It seems to be to allow (Eric&amp;#39;s words &lt;span&gt;[View:/resized-image/__size/16x16/__key/commentfiles/f7d226abd59f475c9d224a79e3f0ec07-ba8fe5ca-911f-47d5-adf5-8242e36c13bc/contentimage_5F00_1.png:16:16]&lt;/span&gt; ) cross-compatibility betwen TI-RTOS and FREERTOS.
