Here's the pinout for the MSP432 board. You should have that already as it comes with the board, but it might be useful to others who don't.

Did you swap the connections between the two boards? [Connecting TX to RX.]

On the Adafruit board, the TX and RX labels are from the point of view of the GPS module.

I don't understand how the 'direct' connection can actually work when it's used with an Arduino, since they seem to have the two TXs trying to drive each other. Does everyone use the 'soft' connection on '7' and '8', perhaps?

I usually get help there - also when there's an existing ticket with the same simptoms.

people will tell you that there's an exisiting ticket, but will help you when you explain that it didn't help you.
