About two weeks ago, I received my runner up reward from Upcycle IoT Design Challenge . It is quite a while since design challenge concluded. If you do not remember it, I joined competition with my DIY attempt to reuse old broken wireless earbuds. As part of experiments I reversed engineered they schematics, soldered wires to right points, added MCU integrating UART interface to control them from computer and added sensor to utilize kit which I received for free from Element 14 at that time. Originally offered power station was not available with EU sockets (I live there) in US (part of Element14 live there), so we they asked me for preference on alternate reward in the same value. And here it is: It is Canon EOS R100 camera which come with lenses and also related equipment (tripod and bag) fit the budget of originally offered power station. It is much more useful reward for me. As far all photos of my project which I post on element14 was captured by iPhone and my first tests show that this new camera produces much better photos and videos even in theory, it works on very similar capturing technology. Optical zoom is fantastic, configuration options are rich, resolution is 6000 × 4000, can save both JPEG and RAW. Video it produces in MP4. Support automatic, semiautomatic and fully manual modes. Some options are slightly hidden in menus (like HDR) but they are there also. Here are some my first testing photos. Full resolution download: SD Card , Park .
