For anyone wanting to know the settings to talk to your Edison, Intel have this

In this example they are using Comm Port 12, but your computer may assign a different number.

Now you know why I put it aside while I deal with other issues.

My current level of ADD made my brain freeze when I tried to follow the instructions, so I am looking at what you are doing.

So far, you have confirmed my decision to wait a bit.
