I gave up on the simulation side after trying to model a filter taking into account its restriction changes as it gets full [not to say it cant be done, maybe I was just lazy]. I also tried the same thing with a valve in place of a siphon but stuck with the siphon because none of the valves I had to hand closed at low pressure and constantly leaked, what I settled with was a smaller siphon than needed and cut the pump off 4 times a hour to bring the siphon to a stop.

Hi Erik.

So you are going the aquaponics route as well. Miachael Ratcliff is very familliar with this type of system. I would pay close attention to his blog posts.

I want so badly to try aquaponics. But I'm affraid it would be impractical with my near total lack of knowledge on the subject. Best to stick with what I know for the sake of getting the porject completed.
