Is it OK?

I used 1k resistor

I will use different temperature sensor (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11050)

Temperature Sensor - Waterproof (DS18B20) - SEN-11050 - SparkFun Electronics

SEN-11050: This sealed digital temperature probe lets you precisely measure temperatures in wet environments with a simple 1-Wire interface. I am using a modified onewire.h and dallas.h, you can download them from www.michaelratcliffe.com/projects with the EC code, or add a pull up to the data line of the temp probe [google arduino, "Tempprobe name pullup"].

2> In the new code you can calibrate by the LCD screen [$3 on ebay]

3> If you dont have a known solution to calibrate against, stick with the standard values for K [EU or USA plug now added] they will give good estimates until you get some fluid to calibrate, this will be better than calibrating using a unkown value [tap water can vary from 0.1 to 0.5].

Only other thing to note is, pick a plug the students cannot plug into the wall [see above video/pinout] and be aware that the plug needs to be hung in the solution not touching the bottom or sides [it will give bad readings].

If you want to use this probe to control an aquaponics unit, check out the new blog:

Automated Green House Blog:11 - Self Optimising Automated Nutrient Doser

Need any more help, I will ussualy get back to you in 24hrs.

Mike
