I just was not clear about them. When looking at the current draw, the lowest value is the one with no displacement. The larger the displacement, the higher the current consumption. So the first number for the current, and therefore the first number of the efficiency, is the one with no displacement.

I will update the articles accordingly, to make that clearer.

Regarding the ebay receiver: with lower loads (and small distances) its efficiency is better. With higher loads it goes to about par. With larger vertical distances it also gets better, also with higher displacement. OTOH its adaptive power management seems not as good, and it needs lower distances to pick up a connection.

RE: What is the range of the Würth Elektronik GmbH & Co. Since I cannot guarantee exact placement of the receiver, I want to get as much wiggle room in regards of offset between transmitter and receiver coil. And it should be the same in all directions, regardless of orientation.

And no, the coil alone cannot be used, you need a receiver IC. Energy up to 5W will be transferred.

Enotion power Switches operate differently as they only transfer a signal on energy harvesting Basis and not energy.

To cover a distance of 100cm you have to use a different transfer technology like magnetic resonance, RF or IR.

b) Operational energy transfer frequency is at 120kHz, as the Qi Standard defines 100-205kHz as frequency range.

This is published in the Qi Standard of WPC.

c) there is no need for an extra µC as the power Management Controllers of the TI boards can be set according to the parameters of the Qi Standard by the programming Interface of the Evaluation boards or jumpers on the boards. Description on the TI Website you mention in your question a).

Best regards

Joerg
