Oh man what an adventure. It's almost as if you are haunted by the ghost of Murphy himself. Hidden among the trials and tribulations in this blog are life lessons and true words of wisdom. Not the least of which are:

"Anyway, I was able to get the new toilet, got it home, installed it and it worked! What an amazing feeling that was. I realized how much I took a toilet for granted most of my life. I have always been an outdoors kind of person, and camp a lot, but you get to go home after that. Home is where the toilet is."

Great write up. I never understand people who go to the trouble and expense of doing something but can’t be bothered to do it right. I spent a few years slowly un-diying a previous homeowners work to put it right; absolutely nothing on your scale though! I salute your perseverance with the project and look forward to (happier) updates.
